However, in her caption, the star opened up about her weight loss journey and the negative comments she received from viewers after a recent episode of the reality show. “I have received so many positive comments about my weight loss (and many other positive things) since the show aired. But oh my God, I am absolutely horrified by last night’s episode,” she began.
“I haven’t received anything from the public saying that I’ve been insecure about myself for weeks, and look, here you are making me feel totally insecure about my appearance. [Talking badly about] the body and making someone feel insecure (no matter how they look now) is one of the worst things you can do.”
“When you humiliate someone online and publicly, others are listening. A friend with an eating disorder, someone struggling to lose baby weight, younger family members with unrealistic body issues. Humiliating someone’s body in the name of advising them to act a certain way or mocking their size is a form of sarcasm and mentally damaging,” she continued.
“I lost my weight for my own reasons, and none of you know why. Body shame leads to horrible extremes I hope will never happen to me because of this, but I can assure you it definitely didn’t help how I feel about myself, even after losing so much weight. Being skinny is fine. Not being skinny is fine. Having curves is fine. Not having curves is fine. Beating someone down for their body is not fine,” Polly stated.
“It’s absolutely one of the most disgusting things you can do to another person. And doing it online is even worse. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. The next time someone shames another person, remember that you are a terrible human being. So, congratulations for making a young woman who has been vulnerable and herself on TV feel like crap again, well done,” she concluded.
